Jeff Koons

Art. It has many forms and styles, some serious and some corky, Some informal and some formal. Art can be made through a plethora of media and can envelope a multitude of meaning. One artist who works through a rather diverse amount of media is Jeff Koons. Jeff Koons was born in 1955 in the city of York in Pennsylvania. He earned his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1976. With his first solo show being shown in 1980, he has been around for quite awhile and has had his work shown world wide. He is famous for works like “Rabbit” and “Balloon dog” and his floral sculptures known as “puppy” and “split rocker”. According to his website,“Koons has been a board member of The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) since 2002, and co-founded the Koons Family International Law and Policy Institute with ICMEC”.his work varies from a almost childlike fancy while other works of his are provocative in nature and require an adult level of maturity.

podcast reflection

Lets be real here, I found making this podcast tough, not only did it make me feel like a noob when it comes to technology but my computer decided it was time to die before I even started. But other than that putting together the images was amazingly fun. putting together the music was also fun. Hearing myself talk was not so fun, I rather dislike my voice and hate listening to it. Playing with the moviemaker was... interesting to say it lightly and it froze half way through me finishing my project.  And even posting this on to much .

As for a classroom application, I would rather not make my students suffer through this process against their will, I may offer it as an extra credit incentive. But by the off chance I change my mind then I'd offer it as a group lead assignment with close attention paid to detail throughout my students process.
